Convert traffic into qualified leads
So you have attracted visitors to your website and are measuring that activity using Google Analytics or some other form of visitor tracking, but now you need to convert that traffic to leads.
Conversion is when a visitor actively engages with your site with intent. That usually looks like a phone call, a completed form like Contact Us or Request A Quote, or, in some cases a Lead Magnet.
A Lead Magnet is some offering that is compelling enough for a visitor to request in exchange for some of their personal information like an eMail address.
This could be a Special Report, Special Offer, Whitepaper, audio or video, online course, eBook, infographic or other forms of valuable content.
Don't feel like you have to ask for a lot of information. In most cases, it is best to start with just an eMail address. Many people will use a secondary eMail address for this purpose, but that is OK. If you have provided valuable, relevant content, they will have moved themselves from "visitor" to "prospect" in your funnel.
While not a "qualified prospect" yet, your next action can help move them along. Obviously, thank them for their interest and provide the link they requested. At this time, offer some additional content. If they accept that offer, they continue to move themselves deeper into the funnel.
Timing, and value will determine how much information you can request, and when, but by creating a few automated conversion points on your website, you can convert traffic into qualified leads.
